Mediterranean

Mediterranean places a large central sea between the players' land masses. While there are usually small land bridges, the dominant strategy is naval control followed by transport-based landings. Top water civs (Vikings, Italians, Portuguese) dominate, but flexible land civs can win if they secure transports early. Map control is measured in dock count and Demolition Ship positioning.
