About Black Forest

Black Forest is a closed map where natural forest walls separate every player, leaving only narrow chokepoints to defend. It is the king of treaty-style and turtle play, where the early game is spent walling, mining stone, and reaching Imperial Age safely. Civs with strong trash units, gunpowder, or unique siege units (Britons, Teutons, Koreans, Slavs) dominate. Cavalry-based archer civs that thrive on flanking are usually weaker here because chokepoints neutralise mobility. Expect very long games and massive late-Imperial battles around forest gaps.
