About Golden Pit

Golden Pit places a massive gold pile in a central depression surrounded by higher terrain. Controlling the pit means controlling the late-game economy. Aggressive cavalry civs that can contest the centre early dominate. Defensive civs can mine their own gold but eventually must fight for the centre. Expect explosive Castle Age battles over the central gold.
