Acropolis

Acropolis spawns every player on a hilltop, giving natural elevation bonuses to defenders. The elevation makes early aggression risky and rewards measured Castle Age commits rather than Feudal all-ins. Civs with strong Castle Age unique units and good siege benefit most. Hill Fort, Sicilians, and Cumans take advantage of the terrain particularly well. Battles tend to happen at the base of hills, where attackers must commit fully or retreat.
