Hideout sits between Arabia and Arena: each player starts with extra wood, stone, and a partial forest perimeter that makes early walling realistic. This rewards calculated booms and mid-Feudal commits rather than all-in rushes. Because walling is achievable, civs that benefit from a slightly delayed timing — Franks, Burgundians, Lithuanians, Bohemians — perform very well. Pure Dark Age aggression civs lose some of their advantage. Hideout is a popular team-game map because every player can secure their base before pushing.
