Highland

Highland features a winding central river with shallows that allow crossings. Bases are separated by elevation changes and partial forests, making it semi-defensive but never fully safe. Balanced civs with strong Castle Age timings perform well: Lithuanians, Bulgarians, Slavs. The river crossings create natural battle zones for Mangonel and Onager fights. Highland is a fan favourite for its scenic terrain and decision-rich gameplay.
