The Burmese are a powerful Monk and Battle Elephant civilization with exceptional Monastery and jungle map synergies. Lumber Camp upgrades are free — a massive economic advantage on forested maps. Unique tech Howdah gives Battle Elephants +1 armor. Monasteries are cheaper and Monks are stronger through Manipur Cavalry giving cavalry and Arambai extra attack. Arambai is their unique cavalry unit that throws projectiles with high damage but poor accuracy. Battle Elephants are stronger and cheaper. Burmese are best on jungle and closed maps where their wood economy bonus and Elephants can be fully leveraged. Their Monks combined with powerful Elephants create a difficult-to-counter late-game composition.
