The Ethiopians are an archery and economic civilization with one of the best defensive setups in the game. They receive a free Pikeman and Skirmisher when advancing to Castle and Imperial Age, providing immediate military reinforcement at key timing windows. Towers and Outposts have +3 range. Unique tech Royal Heirs reduces Shotel Warrior cost. Shotel Warriors are their unique infantry unit — the fastest training infantry in the game, produced in only 6 seconds. Torsion Engines improves their Mangonel-line shots. Niter provides additional resources from stone when building Outposts. Ethiopians excel in boom-and-defend strategies where their free units bridge military gaps during economic upgrades and their long-range Towers deter rushes.
